King of the Court Doubles Tournament

Saturday, June 9th, 2012 @ 10am 

King of the court is a rotation format where players move “up” towards the top court if they win a match or “down” towards the bottom court if they lose a match.

Time:

~6 hours (5 hours play + 1 hour lunch break)

Players/courts:

Four players per court

Singles/doubles:

Doubles (MD, XD, or WD)

Handicap Points: MD vs. WD = 4pts; MD vs. XD = 2pts; WD vs. XD = 2pts

10 courts -- SBC Court # 7 to 16

Kings Court = # 7; Jesters Court = #16

Scoring:

Matches are timed for 10 minutes and players count their score as they go. The pair in the lead after the time is up is the winner. If there is a draw after 10 minutes, play one more point. Scores are not recorded.

Order of Play: 

Send two doubles team to each court. After each match, the winning pair moves up towards the Kings court (Court # 7) and the losing pair moves down towards the Jesters court (Court # 16). The winning pair on Kings court (Court # 7) will remain on the same court.  The losing pair on Jesters court (Court # 16) will remain on the same court.

Completion of Activity:

The players who finish on Kings court at the completion of the tournament are the winners.
